Where is other dynamics in photoshop cs6

Two of these options are Opacity and Flow , and you'll find them side by side each other:. Opacity controls the translucency of the brush color as we paint. I'll paint a simple brush stroke using one of Photoshop's standard round brushes. This time, even though I'm still painting with black, the brush color appears as a much lighter gray:.

The reason is that by lowering the opacity value, the white background of the document is now showing through the brush color. Here's the important part. Notice that even in the areas where the brush stroke looped back over itself, the opacity value didn't change. Also, even though the brush tips themselves are overlapping each other, it made no difference to the opacity level. That's the big difference between opacity and flow. Opacity controls the translucency of the entire brush stroke.

Flow, on the other hand, controls the opacity level of each individual brush tip! The only way I can affect the opacity of my initial brush stroke is by releasing my mouse button or lifting my pen off the tablet to end the first stroke, then painting a second, different brush stroke that passes over top of the first one.

The second stroke appears as the same light gray color, but in areas where the two strokes overlap each other, the opacity levels combine to create darker, more opaque sections:. A lower value changes the hue while maintaining a close proximity to the hue of the foreground color. A higher value increases the difference between hues. Saturation Jitter. Specifies a percentage by which the saturation of the paint can vary in a stroke.

Brightness Jitter. Specifies a percentage by which the brightness of the paint can vary in a stroke. Increases or decreases the saturation of the color. Type a number, or use the slider to enter a percentage between — and Opacity Jitter and Control. Specifies how the opacity of paint varies in a brush stroke, up to but not exceeding the opacity value specified in the options bar.

Varies the opacity of paint based on the pen pressure, pen tilt, or the position of the pen thumbwheel. Flow Jitter and Control. It seems the be the tool itself. So every time I try to turn off transfer, change its attributes or controls within the transfer option itself it reverts everything back to zero and turns on again as soon as I start painting. I've been using Photoshop for a very long time and I was always able to disable the transfer option but still have opacity sensitivity. Has anyone else been battling with this?

I've reset my wacom prefs, reloaded new brushes and restarted my pc Not sure if I'm being a dummy or if it's a bug? It seems to me that you do still have opacity sensitivity, so long as the Opacity icon is enabled. Turn Transfer off why?

Turn the icon off with Transfer off, and there's no opacity control via the Wacom. Turn it back on, and you have Opacity according to Pen Pressure. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search.

I have CS3 on one computer and CS 5 on another. On CS3 my dynamic brush options have a section called 'Other Dynamics' that allows me to change jitter opacity, but my CS5 does not have that option in the same area. You will find "Opacity Jitter" in the "Transfer" section.
